The Original Newcomb (The Rand Cottage)

This is our original Newcomb Timber Frame House Plan in the flesh.

This design has been very popular, and we have updated and expanded the design over the years. The current version of the house plan is a bit larger than this house, with a third bedroom or office, and an ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom. This model has a hip roof. A gable roof is also possible.

Inside, the cottage seems much more spacious than its 908 square feet would suggest. It is a comfortable, cozy living space for a couple of adults and the occasional visitors.

The Newcomb is actually a hybrid timber frame, with conventionally-framed walls but a timber framed roof structure and some supporting posts.
